Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Steve and Alex skin models?

Classic (Steve) models use 4-pixel wide arm textures. Slim (Alex) models use 3-pixel wide arms. If you load a slim skin on a classic model, black pixel glitches may appear on the inner arm edge.

Why does my skin look strange with floating pixels?

Modern skins (1.8+) have a 2nd outer layer for the head, torso, and limbs to create 3D clothes and hair effects. Use the layer toggles in our viewer to isolate each layer.
